Shortly after returning from the trailer fire, Engine 51 & Ambulance 59 were dispatched for a medical local. Minutes later, Engine 52 was alerted for the auto accident with a person trapped at Route 4 & Fishers Station Road in Lothian. Additional units from Anne Arundel, Calvert & Prince Georges County were also alerted.
While enroute, Maryland State Police arrived on location and requested a helicopter for one patient.
Engine 52 arrived on location and found a two vehicle t-bone accident with one person trapped. The crew from Engine 52 split up stabilizing the vehicle, performing patient care & extrication. Engine 52 used their Amkus hydraulic spreaders to force the driver's door & roll the dash to free the patient.
Unfortunately the patient succumbed to her injuries while on scene.
One additional patient was ground transported to a local hospital. Engine 52 operated on the scene for 1 hour before returning to service.
