Three Trapped in Head-On Accident

At 1903 hours, Dunkirk VFD Engine 51 & Tanker 5 responded for the vehicle fire at Route 260 & Jewell Road. While enroute, Communications advised they were receiving additional information that the vehicle fire was a result of a serious accident with multiple people trapped. The assignment was upgraded and brought Dunkirk VFD Squad 5, Engine 52, Ambulance 59, Chief 5A, Chief 5C & both Safety Officers.

The Dunkirk VFD arrived on location at Route 260 & Sansbury Road with a two-vehicle head-on accident. A total of three people were trapped in both vehicles. Dunkirk VFD Squad 5 & North Beach VFD Squad 1 went to work on extricating. In addition, Anne Arundel County Fire Department received the call and sent numerous resources to assist as well as units from PG County Fire Department. Units from the Dunkirk VFD operated on the scene for 90 minutes.
