First Due Commercial Building Fire |

At 0457 hours the Box Alarm was sounded for the building fire at 7101 Industrial Drive, Owings. Engine 51, Engine 52, Squad 5, Ambulance 59, Brush 5, DFC Philpott, AFC Sealey, and the Fire Chief responded immediately. The Dunkirk Volunteers arrived to find a two story commercial building with fire showing. Engine 51 laid out from the dry hydrant and advanced a cross lay and the 2" preconnect inside the building knocking down all fire on the first and second floors. Engine 52 flanked the fire knocking down the exterior fire extending into the second floor. Squad 5 conducted a primary search and controlled the utilities. Ambulance 59 established the rehab area with the assistance from the Ladies Auxiliary. A second alarm was dispatched due to the occupancy type and water supply needs, however the large majority of the incident was handled by Dunkirk Volunteers. Units cleared the foreground at 0745 hours. |
