At 1039 hours, Ambulance 59 was alerted for the fall at Northern High School in Chaneyville. The crew arrived and found the incident at the portion of the school under construction. An iron worker was on the 3rd floor of the building when he fell 15' below onto the second floor. With the only access via an extension ladder, the call was upgraded bringing Engine 52, Squad 5, Technical Rescue 5, the Fire Chief & Assistant Chief to the call.

Crews treated the patient for his injuries and packaged him into a stokes basket. Construction equipment on scene was utilized to safely lower him to the ground. The patient was flown to a local trauma center. The Dunkirk Volunteers returned to service at 1130 hours.
