3 Flown From Dunkirk Accident With Fire & Ejection

At 1809 hours, the Dunkirk Volunteers were alerted for the serious auto accident at Route 4 & Mount Harmony Road. Squad 5, Engine 51, Engine 52, Ambulance 58, the Fire Chief & Assistant Chief responded. The Dunkirk Volunteers arrived to find two vehicles involved, with one on fire. One car was reported to have struck a pole and flipped numerous times, ejecting both occupants. The second vehicle was on its side and flipped to all fours by concerned citizens prior to fire department arrival. Crews evaluated three priority 1 patients, all of whom where flown to trauma facilities. Crews worked diligently and proficiently to cover all tasks in a timely manner. Units operated on the scene for one hour before returning to service.

Later that evening, Squad 5 returned to assist crash reconstruction with the removal of 6 doors and additional assistance.
