Heavy Entrapment w/ Pin on Ward Road |

At 1059 hours, Engine 52, Engine 51, Ambulance 59, the Fire Chief & Assistant Chief were alerted for the auto accident at Ward Road & Welchpoole Court. The Dunkirk Volunteers arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree with the passenger trapped. Engine 52 went to work stabilizing the vehicle, pulling a charged hoseline & began the extrication. Both Amkus generators & every hydraulic tool were deployed. The crew from Rescue 1 arrived on location & assisted with their tools. Both driver & passenger sides were completely removed, the roof & the dash was rolled to free the patient who was heavily trapped. The total extrication took 17 minutes. Ambulance 59 treated the patient who was flown to a local trauma center. One additional patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The Dunkirk Volunteers cleared at 1200 hours. |
