Baltimore City Transfer

The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department is saddened to learn that On October 19, 2023, the Baltimore City Fire Department lost one of their own while battling a house fire that afternoon. FF. Pitts all had Graduated from recruit school on July 31, 2023, and been assigned to 29 Engine of the Park Heights neighborhood.


On October 27, the Celebration of Life Services was held the Dunkirk Volunteers had provided coverage in the city to allow the city to mourn the loss of their own.

Engine 5-2 had transferred to 31 Engine of the Waverley Neighborhood and responded to several incidents including structural rescues and reports of House on Fire.

Truck 5 transferred to the Quarters of Truck 20 in the Greektown Neighborhood. While in quarters Truck 5 was alerted to the House fire at 3506 E Baltimore St. Truck 5 operated as the first truck and assisted with searches, ventilation, laddering the structure, and fire extinguishment.
