At 0238hrs this morning, CCECC dispatched “Area Box 2-04” Engine 5-1, Safety 5A, and Chief 5 quickly responded to the report of a house on fire. Engine 2-1 arrived on scene to find a 2-story wood frame, single-family dwelling with fire showing from the garage extending to the second floor. Engine 5-1 as the 5th due engine company was tasked as the water supply engine, while Chief 5 assisted with fire extinguishment and operated as the Division 2 supervisor. Dunkirk units operated for just under 2 hours before returning to service. Engine 5-1 later transferred to station 2 in Prince Frederick to assist with service while their units remained on scene.
