Box Alarm: 110

Shortly before 2100 hrs on the 25th of January 2022, Engine Company 5, Tanker 5, Chief 5, and Assistant Chief 5 were alerted to the 3500 Blk of 9th street for the report of the back porch of a home on fire.
While en route, communications advised they were receiving multiple calls for the report of the “House on fire” with the address now being changed to a home somewhere on 8th Street.

Engine company 1 arrived to find a 2-story split foyer with fire showing from Charlie side. Engine 5 arrived as the second due engine company, and laid in the initial supply line to the fire ground. Crews then stretched a 400’ pre-connected attack line to the alpha side initiating extinguishment to the seat of the fire. Working in conjunction with Engine Companies 6&2, engine company 5 assisted with the extinguishment and opening up of both the basement and division 1.
Companies operated a little over 2 hours before being returned to service.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
