Engine Truck and Chiefs Run Multi Alarm Fire in Solomons

On May 24th at approximately 10:45pm box 302 was struck for a reported commercial building fire at 13860 HG Trueman Rd. Units from Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department arrived to find a strip mall well involved with fire. Shortly after arrival a second alarm was transmitted bringing additional units including Dunkirk VFD Engine 51, Truck 5, Chief 5, Chief 5A, and Safety 5.

On arrival Chief 5 was assigned the roof division were Truck 5 also operated. Truck 5 conducted a trench cut on the roof to help prevent further extension. Truck 5 later assisted with opening up, forcing doors, and eventually master stream operations. Engine 51 assisted with extinguishment.

All Dunkirk units operated for several hours. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
