Several weeks ago, the Annapolis Mission BBQ reached out to the Dunkirk VFD and requested that Truck 5 be in attendance on September 11 to wave the American flag during the singing of the National Anthem at 1200 hours.

Truck 5 & Chief 5A stood by at the event for two hours. Afterwards, the crew stopped by the Maryland Fire-Rescue Services Memorial to pay their respects and sweep the leaves & sand from the brick installation earlier this week.

Mission BBQ opened its first restaurant on Sept. 11, 2011, 10 years after the attacks.

Time has passed; 18 years. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.
