Fire Inside Richfield Station Townhouse

This morning at 1035 hours, Dunkirk VFD Engine 51, Truck 5, Chief 5A & Chief 5B were dispatched to 7890 Ivy Terrace (106 Box) for the house fire with people trapped. With an additional crew in quarters, Squad 5 responded also.

Units from the Dunkirk VFD arrived on location with smoke showing from a two-story middle of the row townhouse. The crew from Engine 51 assumed first due responsibilities, laid out from the hydrant and stretched a line to the basement locating a dryer on fire. Truck 5 assumed first due responsibilities, laddered the building, controlled utilities and ventilated the house. Squad 5 handled the search which proved negative. The fire was quickly extinguished and the occupants escaped prior to fire department arrival.

With 3 crews and 2 Chiefs operating on the fire, Ambulance 58 handled a medical local in the first due.
