Thursday July 26 at 2036 hours, Dunkirk VFD Squad 5 and Chief 5 were dispatched to 5512 Greenock Road in Lothian (9-08 Box) for the house fire. Communications advised units enroute that they had received multiple calls.

Anne Arundel Engine 91 arrived on location with fire showing from the second floor of a large renovated farmhouse. Prince George’s Engine 820 arrived next and began to establish a water supply. Dunkirk VFD Squad 5 arrived behind Engine 820 and both crews along with Chief 5 made their way to the second floor.

Due to limited water and a well advanced fire in a large renovated farmhouse, crews were unsuccessful in stopping the fire from advancing. The 2nd Alarm was requested which brought Dunkirk VFD Ambulance 58 to the scene.

Unfortunately the house is a total loss. Units from Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Calvert County and the City of Annapolis operated on the scene through the overnight hours. Three firefighters from Dunkirk VFD were injured while fighting the fire. Two of them were treated and released. One firefighter remains hospitalized.
