The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce the arrival of the new Tanker 5 to the community that we serve. The unit was designed and built to efficiently and safely deliver firefighting water to Dunkirk and the surrounding communities.

Tanker 5 is a 2018 Mack Granite / 4 Guys Tanker. In the interest of safety, the vehicle features a Mack MHD reinforced cab, Rolltek Supplemental Restraint System, and Rosco Drive Camera System. The vehicle features a modified tank design and advanced suspension which lowers the overall center of gravity by ten inches. It is equipped with a 1250 GPM pump and 3000 gallon tank.

The Dunkirk Volunteers are actively training on the new vehicle and will place the unit in service on May 19, 2019

The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department proudly staffs 2 Ambulances, 2 Engines, a Rescue Squad, Tanker, Rescue Boat, Technical Rescue Unit, and a Ladder Truck.
