Fire Throughout Easy Street

In the early hours of this morning, the box alarm was sounded for a reported house fire on Easy Street in Co1’s first due of Owings, Maryland.

Engine 51 (6 personnel), Engine 52 (4 personnel), Truck 5 (5 personnel), Safety Officer, and the Fire Chief responded immediately.

NBVFD Chief 1A arrived first and reported a two story split foyer with fire showing from all four sides.

Truck 5 arrived directly behind NBVFD E11. Both Dunkirk engines arrived shortly thereafter and advanced attack lines to the house while the truck crew threw multiple ground ladders and started to ventilate in conjunction with the fire attack. An aggressive interior attack was mounted with crews from NBVFD, Huntingtown, and Dunkirk.

Crews operated for approximately 30 minutes before the fire was placed under control.

Engine 51 and Engine 52 operated attack lines on the second floor while the truck crew opened up and conducted the primary search.

Chief 5 was assigned Operations.

Safety 5 was assigned Safety.

Chief 1A had command.

The sole resident was treated and transported for precautionary medical evaluations.

Ambulance 58 was dispatched to fill the scene while the first due ambulance tended to the homeowner.

This incident is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
