Engine, Truck & 2 Chiefs Operate on Fatal Fire

11 hours after placing Truck 5 in service, it was put to work on its first debut call. At 1808 hours on November 1, 2018, stations were alerted for the House Fire in the 8900 block of Erie Avenue, North Beach (111 Box). Engine 52, Truck 5, the Fire Chief & Deputy Chief responded from Dunkirk VFD with 13 volunteers.

The North Beach VFD arrived on location of a one-story residence with fire showing from the rear. Engine 52 deployed the 400’ crosslay while Truck 5 laddered the rear of the house. A room was located off and quickly extinguished. During the primary search, a priority 4 victim was found.

Units from the Dunkirk VFD operated for 1 hour.
