The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department has spent the last several years working on the process and gaining the necessary statistical corroboration needed to justify placing a ladder truck in service to our community.

Last night, after almost 4 years of process, Fire Chief Toby Sealey and President Jim Taylor met with the Fire/Rescue Commission where a unanimous vote was made to authorize the purchase of a ladder truck for the Dunkirk and surrounding communities.

The process has been lengthy but the end result is a more versatile community fire department that is able to meet the demands of an ever-evolving response area.

The members and the command staff of the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department are thankful for the support from the community, our fire service partners, and the county leadership in seeing this as such a high priority as we do.

Additional information is forthcoming along with an official press release.
