At 0800 hours, Box Alarm 101 was sounded for the Building Fire at 5230 Breezy Point Road inside of the Breezy Point Marina. Dunkirk VFD Engine 51 & the Deputy Chief (5B) responded on the call. First arriving units encountered flooding conditions on scene as a result of the storm surge and a fully-involved 60’ X 30’ metal frame building. The crew from Engine 51 stretched the 400’ attack line and assisted with extinguishment. Engine 51’s Wagon Driver was able to draft directly from the flooded parking lot to ensure continuous water supply during operations. Units operated for two hours. Two additional crews remained in quarters. |
