At 0808 hours, while Zodiac 5, Utility 5, and the Fire Chief were operating on a water rescue in Chesapeake Beach, Squad 5 was dispatched to Route 4 & Route 408 in Anne Arundel County for the vehicle crash with entrapment.

Squad 5 responded with 4 personnel and arrived first to find a two car head on collision with occupants trapped. The crew went to work stabilizing the cars and removing several doors and posts. Squad 5 worked quickly to remove all occupants to awaiting EMS units. Calvert Squad 1 and Prince George’s Squad 20 assisted with EMS care.

USPP Eagle 1 and MSP Trooper 2 handled transport of priority patients.
