Squad 5 was dispatched mutual aid to Anne Arundel county in the early hours of Sunday, May 8th. The call went out as a reported boat taking on water in the Chesapeake Bay. Squad 5 responded to Herrington Harbor South and staged alongside Battalion Chief 3 and Medic 9 until the crews on the water could find the boat. Trooper 2 located the boat just off of Breezy Point. Squad 5 started towards Breezy Point Marina in the event there were patients on the vessel that needed to be taken ashore. The crews on the water made contact with the boat and discovered the problem to be a malfunctioning bilge pump. The box was placed in service, good intent.
